Renewal of status of residence
Renewing your status of residence means applying for an extension of your currently allowed period of stay and obtaining permission.
It can be accepted about two months prior to the period of stay.
As a general rule, the applicant is required to apply for a substitute by a family member if the person under the age of 16 is under the age of 10.
In addition, it is usual to apply for an update of the current period of stay, but if you wish to stay longer than now, you can apply at the counter.
This procedure can also be made on behalf of an administrative scrivener who has been authorized to apply on behalf of the person in question.

Change of status of residence
A change of status of residence means changing from one current residence to another. This is mainly necessary when there is a change in the purpose of residence or when there is a change in the status relationship.
When you apply for a change of residence, the materials to be prepared depending on the status of residence you are trying to obtain, and the conditions that must be met will vary.
Since the period of stay is also counted from the time the change is permitted, it is necessary to be careful not to mistake the next renewal date by mistake in confusion with the previous expiration date of the residence.
As a general rule, changes in your status of residence from a short-term stay are not permitted.Exceptionally, it is recognized when you are in a situation where you want to marry a Japanese (legally established marriage) and live with you in Japan during a short stay.
Example: Permanent residence
Settled
Japanese spouse, etc.
Change to family stay
About the administrative scrivener after the application
The application order system is originally an application system that allows this exception, although it is said that the application to the Immigration Bureau is made by the foreign person in question at the immigration bureau, the branch office, or the branch office.
An administrative scrivener after application can prepare documents and apply for immigration and residence procedures on behalf of the applicant.
I’m an administrative scrivener.
A regular administrative scrivener can also prepare application documents, but in that case, a foreigner must contact the office. This will interfere with your work and studies, and if you ask the Well Administrative Scrivener Legal Office, which is the administrative scrivener for your application, you will be allowed to submit and receive application documents on behalf of the foreigner, so you can save yourself the trouble of going to the local immigration bureau.
